At MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center, we understand that pregnancy and parenthood come with joy, anticipation, and unique challenges. Whether you're a first-time mom or expanding your family, our maternity concierge sets us apart from other area hospitals.
Every maternity patient at Saddleback Medical Center has access to the support and guidance of a maternity concierge, not just those who experience high-risk pregnancies, which is the standard among other area hospitals. This exclusive service provides personalized assistance, ensuring a positive and fulfilling birthing experience.
What is a Maternity Concierge?
One of the hallmark features of our maternity concierge service is the enhanced communication. Acting as a single point of contact for all your maternity-related inquiries, the maternity concierge addresses expectant moms’ questions and concerns swiftly and efficiently, with one-on-one support and a human touch rather than through AI or automation. Whether you seek clarification on insurance information, need assistance with specific procedures, looking for a provider, or wish to make adjustments to your birth plan, the maternity concierge is devoted to supporting the expectant mom every step of the way.
The maternity concierge serves as a liaison, guiding expectant parents through the multifaceted stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, alleviating anxiety and stress while assisting families in navigating the journey.
Here’s how the maternity concierge offers support:
- Scheduling Appointments: A maternity concierge will assist you by seamlessly scheduling appointments with your OB-GYN, certified nurse midwife, and enrollment in prenatal classes. If you are uncertain about whether to choose an OB-GYN or a certified nurse midwife for your maternity care, our maternity concierge will discuss your preferences with you to determine the best option for you. We work closely with you and your care team to create a meticulously organized timeline, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—preparing for your new baby.
- Coordinating Care: From the moment you find out you're expecting and into postpartum care, our maternity concierge is here to support you through every step of your pregnancy journey. We can help you find a pediatrician who aligns with your family's values and connect you with a qualified lactation consultant for breastfeeding support. As a maternity concierge, we are here to provide comprehensive support, so you can focus on enjoying this special time in your life.
- Providing Resources: A maternity concierge supplies you with comprehensive educational materials covering a range of topics, such as childbirth preparation, infant care techniques, and postpartum wellness, such as complimentary Mommy & Me Postpartum Support Classes, provided by The Mommy Center and Stroller Barre classes provided by Fit4Mom. The Mommy & Me classes consist of a structured series of five weekly sessions, each lasting 75 minutes, designed to provide essential support for moms and their newborns, particularly for those in the age ranges of 0-3 months and 4-6 months. The Stroller Barre classes are 60-minute total body workouts designed to improve your posture, stability, and mobility, all while safely rebuilding strength from the inside out.
- Insurance Support: The maternity concierge is available to help patients navigate insurance coverage by connecting them with the financial team, which handles benefit verification. While the maternity concierge does not personally verify insurance benefits, they assist by facilitating communication, answering general billing questions, coordinating with providers, and ensuring coverage for essential appointments – including prenatal, postpartum, and follow-up care for both mom and baby. This support promotes peace of mind and financial transparency.
