Aneurysm Embolization
Minimally invasive treatment of brain aneurysms using coils and stents. Coiling is proven to lead to shorter recovery times and better outcomes than surgery for acute hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Craniotomy
A craniotomy is the surgical removal of a piece of the skull to access part of the brain. The piece of bone that is removed during a craniotomy is referred to as a bone flap and is replaced after surgery.
Deep Brain Stimulation
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Uses implanted electrodes controlled by a neurostimulator to block abnormal nerve signals that are causing essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease symptoms. Before the electrodes are placed, an MRI and CT scan are performed to pinpoint the precise area of the brain for treatment. Once placed, the electrodes can be individually adjusted to control essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease symptoms.
GammaTile®
GammaTile® is a Surgically Targeted Radiation Therapy (STaRT) for operable brain tumors that provides immediate radiation treatment after tumor removal. GammaTile®
Immediate Tremor Relief: Treatments for Essential Tremor and Parkinson’s Disease
MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center offers a groundbreaking treatment for people suffering from Essential Tremor (ET) and Tremor-Dominant Parkinson's Disease using an incisionless method called MR-guided Focused Ultrasound.
Movement Disorders Program
The Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Disease Program provides comprehensive, compassionate and timely treatment for patients with movement disorders with some of the top neurologists and neurosurgeons in Long Beach and Orange County
MR-guided Focused Ultrasound Treatment
A minimally invasive procedure to alleviate tremor associated with Essential Tremor and Tremor-Dominant Parkinson’s disease. MRgFUS uses ultrasound waves to create a small lesion in the thalamus to interrupt irregular electrical signals that cause hand tremors. During the procedure, an MRI is used to obtain detailed images of the brain anatomy to guide and control the treatment, allowing the neurosurgeon to pinpoint, direct and continuously monitor the treatment area while not affecting the surrounding healthy tissue of the brain. Results are immediate and research shows results last for at least 5 years.
Neuro Rehabilitation
Neurological injuries affect thousands of people each year. Whether the injury is from a recent stroke, trauma to the spinal cord or a progressive disorder such as multiple sclerosis, neurological impairments can significantly decrease independence in daily activities and limit mobility.

Neurosurgery
MemorialCare’s renowned neurosurgeons perform complex surgical procedures and treat neurological conditions using the latest innovations and techniques in neurosurgery, such as minimally invasive surgery, intraoperative MRI, computer-assisted brain surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery, awake brain surgery
Parkinson's Disease Resources
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic neurologic condition that affects many areas of one’s life. For this reason, Orange Coast Medical Center is pleased to offer patient and carepartner support groups, exercises classes, physical therapy, speech therapy, and leading minimally-invasive & surgical treatment options.
Responsive Neurostimulation
Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS) is an epilepsy treatment that uses an implanted device, called a neurostimulator, to help prevent seizures.
Skull Base Brain Tumor Program
At the MemorialCare Neuroscience Institute at Saddleback Medical Center, our team provides a multi-disciplinary approach for the diagnosis and treatment of skull base tumors.
Stroke Receiving Center
If you think you or someone else is having a stroke, call 9-1-1 immediately and note the time of when any of the symptoms first appear. Do not drive yourself or wait for a ride from a friend or family member. Have an ambulance take you to the hospital that is a stroke receiving center right away.
Vagus Nerve Stimulation
This is used to treat epilepsy and treatment-resistant depression using an implantable device. The device is implanted in the chest under the skin and is connected to the left vagus nerve by a thin wire. Electrical signals are sent through the vagus nerve to the brainstem and to specific areas in the brain.
