About
Kristel Dang, NP, completed her nurse practitioner degree at Yale University, School of Nursing in New Haven, Connecticut. She was interested in pursuing a career in nursing after taking undergraduate courses in Women's Studies and Physiology. She later stumbled across Student Health, where she met her first Nurse Practitioner. Around the same time, she saw her mother struggle with her GYN providers and navigating through the healthcare system. Since then, Kristel knew she wanted to make a positive impact with women's health.
I am most satisfied when I can align with my patients' needs and they feel both heard and seen. Knowing that my patients would come back and see me again is a goal I strive to reach. The chance to get to help my patients achieve their personal health goals is a gift and I am grateful for it.
Kristel grew up locally in Southern California and can speak conversational Spanish. Outside of medicine, Kristel enjoys running and has ran three full marathons and several half marathons.

I definitely will return to see her and recommend her to others.Support staff-wise - things were fine - but I got a general vibe of disinterest from the support staff (all but one person at the check-in desk, who actually gave a genuine greeting). I don't take it personally, but mention it in case it helps the administration step back and take a look at the work environment / leadership and determine if anything can be done to improve these soft skills. I personally believe that an expression of warmth, not seeming rushed or disinterested, circling back to the patient to make sure they understand and/or are tucked in - these kinds of actions actually do improve patient health and outcomes and will help to retain patients and improve staff morale.

When going into to confirm my birth, I expressed my love of herbal tea and the concern that I could not have any. I also had other questions regarding beauty routine. She gave some information but mainly directly me to a website that should have all my answers. The website didn’t have much information about my concerns and no information about tea. I was disappointed that I didn’t get clear answer especially with my number one concern.

Krystal is nice and apologetic for making me wait close to 90 minutes. It’s possible that she is just overbooked. I have more problem waiting for that long length of time than I do with Krystal.
