Justin E West, MD

Justin E. West, M.D., is a highly skilled plastic and reconstructive surgeon passionate about helping patients restore their confidence and well-being. Growing up in a medical family with a surgeon father and an Operating Room (OR) nurse mother, Dr. West was immersed in the world of medicine from an early age. His summers spent working in a cardiothoracic research lab set the foundation for his future in healthcare. Though he always felt drawn to surgery, it was in medical school that he discovered his calling for plastic surgery, particularly in helping patients rebuild their lives after cancer procedures. Dr. West’s professional journey includes graduating from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 2003, completing a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown in 2008, and further refining his expertise through an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in 2009. He currently collaborates with the breast surgeons at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center’s Women’s Health Pavilion to treat breast cancer patients.

Dr. West is known for his compassionate approach to patient care, believing patients deserve to feel empowered and informed throughout their healthcare journey. With a dedication to treating each patient like family—a value instilled by his father—Dr. West is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes to help his patients regain a sense of confidence and femininity after challenging cancer treatments. Outside of medicine, Dr. West is a devoted father, spending most of his free time with his three children. Cancer is not only a professional focus but a personal one; his family has been profoundly impacted by it, including his mother, a two-time survivor, and his younger brother, whom he lost to brain cancer. This personal connection adds another layer of empathy and understanding to Dr. West’s commitment to his patients and their healing.
