Jacqueline N Casillas, MD

Jacqueline Casillas, M.D., M.S.H.S., is a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist and serves as the medical director of Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach.

Dr. Casillas received her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed her residency at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center and fellowship at UCLA. She is a professor in pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and serves as the director of the UCLA Daltrey/Townshend Teen and Young Adult Cancer Program.

Her research focuses include being the principal site investigator of the Children’s Oncology Group at Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute, offering clinical trials to pediatric cancer patients from birth to young adulthood.

Her research portfolio also has been funded independently by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the NCI’s Center to reduce cancer health disparities. Her research has focused on ensuring access to care and assessment of quality of life for pediatric, adolescent and young adult cancer survivors, particularly in diverse, underserved communities. Her research findings have been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals, abstracts and publications and she has presented her findings nationally and internationally. In addition, she was recognized as a Top Los Angeles Doctor by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2022.

In her free time, Dr. Casillas enjoys kayaking in the bay with her family and hiking with her whippet (dog).
