Originally from the European country of Serbia, Dr. Appleby moved to the United States to complete her medical education and training through a three-year residency program at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Appleby chose internal medicine because of the patient-centered aspect of the specialty and the opportunity it gives her to create long-term relationships with her patients. She believes it embodies the very core of medicine and demands an intimate understanding of the broad medical spectrum.
Outside of the office, Dr. Appleby loves spending time with her family. Her other interests include playing sports, traveling, music and the arts.

If she doesn’t know something she says so but attempts to find out. She’s got a good sense of humor and makes me feel cared for just by knowing who I am. I’m not checking the box to publish this comment because it will just draw even more people to her roster and she’s working hard enough now. Ps if it weren’t for Dr. Appleby I would have gone to Kaiser for Medicare.

I was taken inside fairly quickly after check-in. But then I had to wait 30 minutes before the doctor actually arrived. She doesn't do pap smears anymore so now I have to go to a obgyn just for that. All she does is check my lungs and blood work and sends me home.

The well visit was very brief (less than 10 minutes), very few questions were asked, and when I asked about health concerns I had I was just referred to a specialist (nothing was asked about when symptoms started, what had been done to treat them in the past, or what my goals were to address them).

I did not feel cared about or considered. Dr Appleby came in and basically said sorry, but I can’t help you- go to Urgent Care. Her LVN was amazing and helped me get the care I needed. I felt like she thought I was taking advantage of her time and brushed to the side. This is not my typical interaction with her, but the last couple visits I’ve felt like my concerns do not matter. Disappointed would be the perfect description of how I felt about my visit.

Appointment cancelled day of appointmentI made an appointment with Dr Appleby but on the day of appt was told she wasn't taking new patients and given a new doctor. An hour and a half before the appointment they told me there wasn't enough time for my appointment. Serious disconnect.Dr Appleby comes highly recommended. And that is who I want to see.

When my appointment was coming up in a few days, someone at the office called to tell me Dr. Appleby was no longer accepting new patients. I asked if that was the office decision or the Dr's. I was told it was the Dr's decision. I was very confused and upset at the same time. Was not given an explanation as to why it took her so long for all of a sudden for her to make that decision. It is very rude and unkind to do that to patients. I was looking forward to seeing her because of my health issues that needed immediate attention. This is the second time this has happened to me at Memorial Care. Something is not right.
