Ellyn M Phan, MD

Ellyn M. Phan, MD is a board-certified internal medicine physician whose interest in medicine started early in life. “I have always been passionate about biology and fascinated by how the human body works,” she says. “Medicine offers a fulfilling career that allows me to serve my community and make a meaningful impact. I chose the specialty of internal medicine because it encompasses many aspects of healthcare, giving me the opportunity to continuously learn and grow, and broaden my base of medical knowledge. I enjoy providing well-rounded care and I feel internal medicine enables me to better meet the diverse needs of my patients.”

Dr. Phan was born in Vietnam and grew up in a setting where her parents emphasized the values of hard work, honesty, and integrity. “They also taught me the importance of taking care of others, as we are all part of the same community,” she notes. “It’s important for my patients to know that I am deeply committed to serving my community. I genuinely enjoy connecting with my patients, listening to their concerns, and helping them manage their health.”

As a physician, Dr. Phan gets the greatest professional satisfaction from building meaningful connections with her patients and helping them overcome health challenges. “I take pride in listening carefully and working together with my patients to develop personalized care plans that suit their unique needs,” she says. “Seeing their progress and knowing I’ve made a difference in their health and well-being is truly rewarding. My goal is to support them not only as their physician but also as a compassionate partner in their care journey.”

In her free time, Dr. Phan enjoys hiking, running, and going on long walks with her puppy and husband. She also keeps up with the latest medical advancements by reading and discussing new research with her colleagues.
