According to Andrew Mlenek, DO, “I didn’t choose medicine. I feel medicine as a career found me. I wanted to be a pilot. Thankfully, a college anatomy professor asked me where I wanted to go to medical school. I started looking into programs that day and found a wonderful passion in my life.”
That passion took him first to medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth and an internship at Downey Community Hospital in Southern California. He served as Chief Resident at The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program before going into private practice in Newport Beach, CA.
Dr. Mleynek says he finds the greatest professional satisfaction in his relationships with patients, partners, specialists, staff and administrators.
“Finding a patient’s joy and guiding them to maintain and increase their joy while collaborating with an amazing team is very satisfying."
When he isn’t finding joy in his practice, Dr. Mleynek can be found indulging in his other passions: golf, cooking, traveling and his grandchildren.

Dr. Mleynek is so knowledgeable about any condition I come to him with. He clearly does ongoing education and research to keep up with rapidly changing medical conditions and diagnosis/treatments. He explains things very thoroughly and in a way that is easily understood, and he has a perfect balance of not over or under explaining. I also feels he truly loves helping patients recover as quickly and effectively as possible. I have arthritis in my knee and he checked it thoroughly and explained to me why it may now be as simple as arthritis, and he suggested a steroid shot which would give me relief and also allow us to see the effectiveness of that treatment which would help him diagnose the true condition. He even stated that he has a cutting edge treatment involving human blood platelets that would be injected in the knee. It was not covered by insurance but the cost seemed reasonable and he stated that the main purpose of offering that treatment was to assist patients not to make lots of money. Dr. Mleynek is awesome in every regard.

The check-in was easy. I waited less than 5 minutes. The nurse came into the room in less than 5 minutes and was very concerned about my ailment. Dr Mleynik diagnosed my issue and explained it thoroughly. He then described the treatment in detail. I asked a couple of other medical questions related to some other issues I was experiencing. Which he gave good easy to understand answers. Dr Mleynik and staff are very professional and provide a great experience every time.

Dr Mleynek has been seeing me for years, years, and years. He is like a trustworthy family member. Never in all the times I've seen him did I receive bad advice and was treated professionally. Always concerned with me as a person. Takes time during our visits to inquire about other health issues not just the ones I came in with. When he had to refer another doctor for other things he always made the right choice and I was completely satisfied with his referral. His staff is also exceptionally knowledgeable professional and courteous.

During my first routine physical we talked about my Type 2 diabetes and taking his suggested change in my dieted I lowered my A1C down to 5 and he took my off my medication and for over 5 years I'm no longer diabetic.
