About
Dr. Babak Firoozi is a board-certified gastroenterologist who sees a broad range of patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Dr. Firoozi received his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School University Hospital and East Orange VA Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at NYU Langone Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital-Manhattan VA Hospital. Dr. Firoozi is board certified in gastroenterology.
His practice includes general gastroenterology with interests in GERD, peptic ulcer disease, colorectal cancer screening, IBS, IBD, viral hepatitis, and fatty liver disease. His clinical interests include hepatobiliary disease, liver disease, and IBD.
In addition to upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, Dr. Firoozi has specialized training in capsule endoscopy, ambulatory pH testing, esophageal manometry, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and enteral stents (esophageal, gastroduodenal, colon).
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Firoozi and his family have lived in Orange County for the last 12 years. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, golf, skiing, and going on vacations with his wife and 3 young children.
Dr. Firoozi is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

Great Dr.Dr Firoozi listens to what you are expressing and works with you to find the best path to treating what ails you. I have seen 3 other gastroenterologists and none were able to treat the spectrum of my condition nor were they interested in working with me to personalized treatment. Something I appreciated was when I had difficulty explaining certain things, they were able to re iterate the question or ask something else to help clarify or help me explain things. Over all amazing experience as someone who tends to get nervous in these situations. Even the receptionist was straightforward and nice in the short interaction. I waited for more than a month to have my appointment scheduled through memorial care. I drove 45 minutes for this appointment at their fountain valley location, reached 10 minutes before in their parking lot. It took 15 minutes for me to find a parking space. The doctor waited me just for 8 minutes and left for a surgery and asked me to reschedule. Poor service
