About
Dr. Zimmerman chose pediatrics because she believes there is something special about helping children grow into healthy adults. She credits her mother, a former kindergarten teacher, for teaching her patience and the rewards of working with children.
I love working with children and their parents. Whether educating them on how to be healthy or helping them through an illness or injury, the rewards of being able to help them are returned to me ten-fold. I have two children, and as a physician and mother, my focus is always on what is best for my young patients.
Dr. Zimmerman grew up in Palos Verdes, California and says she is glad to be home in Southern California, although she did develop a fondness for snow after spending several years in the mid-west. Time outside of the office is devoted to her husband and children, as well as a dog, several cats and numerous fish. She also enjoys reading novels, growing her own fruits and vegetables, and is currently working on her next degree of black belt in Shaolin Kempo, an Asian martial art.

I had a very negative experience with the front desk staff however. They mishandled our appointment and added 30 minutes of waiting to our time because of their mistake, not because of any scheduling delays.

The doctor was very attentive and helpful. She was kind and understanding. She explain everything to my satisfaction. Not only did she took her time with us. Her nurse Jali was just a true gem! My son didn’t fight or even cry getting his flu shot! The front office staff and the lab work nurses were great too! He got his blood drawn for the first time and was so comfortable with it because Nurse Jali build his trust!
This makes me so happy to know my son care is in the right hands. So far we are glad we made the switch from Kaiser.

Dr. Zimmerman has been very helpful and informative to me since I’m a first time mom. Today, she helped my baby with her detached umbilical cord. She told us not to bathe her yet until the weekend once the umbilical cord is completely healed. Dr. Zimmerman talks in Spanish when I have a companion that doesn’t speak English, she tries to integrate everyone and I love it! Also she has the best nurse ever, Ms. Jally is great! I have been taking my 2 boys to see Dr. Zimmerman for 6 years now. They are now ages 10 & 14. She is consistently thorough & we don’t ever feel rushed. She has helped diagnose and treat everything from ADHD to concussions and does a great job with routine well exams too. There are other pediatricians that are closer to where we live, but we have continued to stay with Dr. Zimmerman. The kids really like her too!
