OCMC Nutrition Team

Thanks to donor support, the nutritional oncology program at Orange Coast Medical Center has been steadily expanding its capacity to ensure more cancer patients receive individualized counseling services without financial barriers. The program, which now serves 60 patients annually, provides consultations with registered dietitians for guidance on how to manage nausea, loss of appetite and other side effects from treatment. These personalized strategies help prevent malnutrition and weight loss, often associated with chemotherapy, but are factors that negatively impact outcomes. By strengthening their caloric intake during treatment, patients have improved energy and resilience for their journey to healing.
