David M Yashar, MD

David Yashar, MD grew up in Atlanta, GA and chose to pursue a career in medicine—and specifically in hematology/oncology—because of the profound impact this specialty had on his life throughout his mother’s battle with multiple myeloma. “Watching the compassion, dedication and expertise of the doctors who treated her not only gave our family hope, but also inspired me to follow in their footsteps,” he says. “Their ability to blend science with empathy left a lasting impression on me and fueled my desire to become part of that world. As I advance in my medical career, I am driven not only to provide the highest level of care to my patients, but also to contribute to the discovery of innovative treatments that can improve outcomes and offer new hope to individuals and families facing cancer and blood disorders.”

Dr. Yashar is deeply passionate about both his specialty and the patients he has the privilege to treat, working with them every step of the way during their health care journey. 

“Through working with patients from diverse backgrounds and exposure to a wide array of pathologies, I’ve grown into a well-rounded physician, embodying both versatility and compassion in my practice. Additionally, I actively engage in research projects in the field of hematology/oncology, drawing upon my academic background to contribute meaningfully to the field. I am dedicated to delivering the best care possible to my patients while simultaneously conducting research focused on enhancing patient outcomes.”

When he is not caring for patients or conducting research in the field, Dr. Yashar and his wife enjoy hiking and bird watching. He also loves learning the history of various cultures.
