About
Lauren Witchey, MD, attended medical school and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, Irvine. Hailing from a family deeply rooted in healthcare, she drew inspiration from her grandfather's gastroenterology practice and her mother and grandmother's roles as operating room nurses. From an early age, she knew her calling was to become a physician.
Her medical interests encompass a wide range of gynecologic specialties, including abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, family planning, contraception, and menopause. She possesses a deep passion for surgery, particularly in the realm of minimally invasive techniques, as evidenced by her accolades, including the Michael L. Berman Award for Excellence in Gynecologic Surgery and the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons Outstanding Achievement Award. Additionally, her commitment to providing high-quality obstetric care earned her recognition with the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine award for excellence in Obstetrics.
Guided by a passion for procedural specialties, Dr. Witchey chose obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) for its captivating blend of patient diversity and medical procedures. She finds fulfillment in the multifaceted nature of her specialty, allowing her to establish enduring relationships with patients in the clinic, perform immediate treatments in the operating room, and partake in the momentous experience of delivering babies in the labor & delivery ward. Being a women's healthcare provider is a privilege for her, enabling her to advocate for the unique needs of women throughout their lifespans, from adolescence through pregnancy to menopause.
In her role as an OBGYN, Dr. Witchey is privileged to be part of pivotal moments in women's lives, providing support during joyous occasions like childbirth and navigating challenging diagnoses and treatments. Her greatest reward lies in forming lasting bonds with her patients and acting as their ally in enhancing their health and well-being.
I understand how important it is to create an environment based on trust and understanding in a healthcare setting. By creating this space, I hope my patients feel comfortable sharing sensitive issues, as well as their values and goals in care. I aim to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Witchey grew up in Santa Barbara, California. Outside of medicine, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending time with loved ones, listening to live music, immersing herself in the outdoors, and going on adventures in various cities and countries with her husband. Their French bulldog, Bolognese, is a cherished companion during their travels.

She was kind and very consent based, always letting me know ahead of time what she was going to do and how it might feel before she did it. She was kind, warm, knowledgeable and proactive. My mom passed away from uterine cancer 10 years ago, and while the cancer isn't genetic, no gynecologist since (despite knowing my familial history) has suggested getting a sonogram for a baseline check. I tear of happiness knowing my baby is doing good. she gave me an ultrasound profile pic which i was surprised I wasn’t expecting at all.. I left the office happy and most of all with that peace of mind. My other great experience is the representative in the front desk. I was filling out paper work for dmv and she double check to make sure I wasn’t missing anything then advice me to pick it up because she inform me that dmv wants originals which I didn’t know.

I met Dr Landry first before I met Dr Witchey. I was transferred because Dr Landry is a traveling doctor. I told Dr Witchey I was having the fibroids for years, from a size small to a size large (or should I say very large). I started having trouble breathing and I urinate most the time which I don’t normally do (it’s because the fibroids are pushing it to my stomach and bladder). She explained everything about the ups and downs to have it removed. I trusted her and so I underwent for laparoscopic and abdominal surgery. From my 1st visit through surgery and recovery, I was given the best care. The pain was very minimal. I was able to walk while in the hospital. My recovery process was very smooth and there’s no issue at all. I returned to work within 3 weeks. Thank you Dr Lauren Witchey, I can now do my outdoor activities

My fiancé and I have been trying to get pregnant and have hit a few roadblocks along the way, including a missed miscarriage and a molar pregnancy. I had a different OBGYN prior to this for my first son and although I loved him, he unfortunately moved away. Dr. Witchey is an incredibly kind, diligent, thoughtful, and intelligent OBGYN. She's very responsive and makes me feel truly cared for. One of the things that makes her unique in comparison to my previous doctor is how on top of things she is. I feel like I'm always one step ahead of everything and never felt lost or confused about what to expect. Although my previous OBGYN was great, he often forgot little details here and there that I would have to mention or hunt down on my own for more information, but I don't experience that with Dr. Witchey. She keeps me close to the ground so I'm always armed with everything I need to know on this, so far, rough journey to conceive a second baby.The other thing I should mention is regarding the center itself. The clinic is connected to the lab facility. One thing you should know is that this journey requires A LOT of bloodwork. In the last week alone, I have had my blood drawn four times. At any other network/facility, you'd do a follow-up with your OBGYN, then after that visit, you'd need to get a bloodwork order which is done at a different location. You'd have to schedule another time and day to do it. It's a logistical nightmare. However, at this facility, you can walk out of your regular check-up with your doctor and then walk over to the lab to get blood drawn right after, all in one visit. It's so convenient and it saves so much time.
