About
Dr. Nissi Suppogu is a fellowship-trained, board-certified cardiologist who specializes in women’s heart disease with MemorialCare Medical Group. She serves as medical director, Women’s Heart Disease at the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Long Beach Medical Center.
She received her medical degree from SSR Medical College in Mauritius and completed her internal medicine residency at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Following that, she completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center and a specialized fellowship in advanced clinical and research training in women's heart health and diseases at the Barbara Streisand Women's Heart Center, Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Nissi Suppogu is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Nissi Suppogu is a dedicated and compassionate cardiologist with a passion for improving women's heart health conditions that present throughout an adult female's lifespan, from 18 yrs. of age and above. She focuses on preventing heart conditions at every stage and is specially committed to the accurate and timely diagnosis of female-specific presentations of heart diseases. She works toward providing personalized medical care tailored to each patient's needs, believing in the importance of educating her patients about their heart conditions to achieve improved outcomes.
Dr. Suppogu has numerous publications and has worked extensively with women affected by coronary microvascular dysfunction. She believes that research is essential for the growth and evolution of cardiovascular care and that every patient has a role to play in creating a better place for future patients to follow.
My patients are my top priority! I am committed to educating my patients about their heart health and encouraging them to speak openly about their symptoms and get their hearts checked. My desire is for my patients to understand where they are on the spectrum of heart disease and health and to partner with them on their journey toward healthier hearts!
In her free time, she loves to cook and bake and spend quality time with her family and friends. Dr. Suppogu also loves to travel and be outdoors, hiking and exploring new places.

She introduced herself with a smile that warmed my heart to see a Dr who cares. I have taken my granddaughter to many doctors, but this doctor here stands out. I have taken my granddaughter to many doctors, but this young lady she stood out from the rest of my granddaughter’s get to Dr. Nisa because she made a difference in her appearance and the way she cared for my granddaughter the nurses were nice and polite, yes I would recommend this doctor especially her. She’s a very warm individual.

The employees at the front desk was so kind. The doctor took her time with me and asked a lot of questions in the pass and present. I didn't feel rushed plus the questions that she asked was related to my overall health not just to what I was there for. So very glad to have met her.

Nice and professional but seemed quick to go on the defensive when I questioned her about her recommended mg I was to start with of the new BP she was putting me on. She just needed to be open with me about her process which I would have understood but she took offense to my question giving me the impression I was questioning her professionalism which I was not. She’s a little touchy.

Dr. Suppogu is great. She explained everything about my previous lab tests, and answered all my questions. Not all doctors talk to their patients; she does. That gives gives me trust that she is a good doctor.
