About

Christina Rodriguez Ruiz, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified cardiologist who specializes in advanced cardiac imaging and serves as the medical director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Long Beach Medical Center.

She received her medical degree and residency in internal medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She then completed a fellowship in cardiology at Scripps Clinic/Green Hospital in San Diego, CA, and a second fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Stanford University in Stanford, CA. Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz was drawn to medicine by the facets medicine encompasses, including caregiving, education and exploration. She views medicine as a captivating profession, a continuous learning experience enriched by technical intricacies and the puzzle-solving nature of diagnoses. Cardiology, an ever-evolving field, became a natural extension of her aspiration to become a doctor. The diversity within cardiology's realm, blending primary care, procedures, and imaging, fascinated her from the start. Recognizing its capacity to impact lives prior to disease onset and its ability to address pathology, Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz decided to delve deeper into cardiac imaging for disease prevention.

My patients can expect dedicated patient care with personalized objectives, backed by expert proficiency in clinical cardiology and cardiac imaging. I'm equally committed to prevention, aiming to empower patients to avert heart disease through achievable goals.

Driven by her passion for patient care, Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz finds fulfillment in the human connection that medicine offers and tailors care to the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Rodriguez Ruiz grew up in Puerto Rico, is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational French. Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending quality time with friends, family, and her pets.
