Vergel struggled from stress eating and being overweight. He received gastric bypass surgery by Dr. Mir Ali at MemorialCare Surgical Weight Loss Center at Orange Coast Medical Center. Within a year, he lost 155 pounds and his blood pressure is back to normal.
