Today, MemorialCare Medical Group hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the relaunching of its health center, now exclusively dedicated to serving the 55+ community in Laguna Woods, Calif. Recognizing the increased demand for health care services in the area, MemorialCare Medical Group 55+ Laguna Woods offers expanded access to care for adults ages 55 and above in Orange County. The new 55+ location will be a hub for comprehensive medicine, offering early morning appointments, rotating specialists starting in summer, and convenient virtual care options.

“Laguna Woods is home to one of the largest 55 plus populations in the nation with more than 80% of residents aged 55 and older,” says Annamarie Jones, chief operating officer, MemorialCare Medical Foundation. “This community has unique healthcare needs, from managing chronic conditions and prescriptions, while staying active and independent. We take pride in offering age-friendly care and are committed to ensuring that those who are approaching late life changes have access to comprehensive, high-quality, and convenient medical care designed for them.”

The new health center officially opened its doors to patients Monday, Mar. 3. This location was thoughtfully designed to provide comprehensive, senior-focused care. It features 10 exam rooms, a dedicated procedure room for wound care and an on-site lab with early morning appointments for added convenience. Every aspect of this health center is meant to support accessibility, comfort, and efficiency, making it easier for patients to get the care they need.

“The vision of this clinic is to support our 55-plus population in staying safe, keeping their minds and bodies active, and maintaining their health for as long as possible, so they can enjoy an exceptional quality of life," says Nancy Hanna, M.D., director of Value-Based Care at MemorialCare Medical Foundation. "Our clinic operates with a team-based approach, where the entire care team functions as one cohesive unit, trained to serve our patients from the moment they walk in until they leave to go home.”

This summer, the clinic will offer rotating on-site specialists in neurology, gynecology, and gastroenterology, ensuring comprehensive and tailored medical services for older adults.

After the ribbon-cutting, guests toured the center, guided by MemorialCare Medical Group 55+ Laguna Woods care team members. To further enhance access to care, this location will offer an on-site referral coordinator to streamline specialty appointments, gait and balance training, nutrition workshops, pharmacist and dietitian consults, and rotating on-site specialists in neurology, gynecology, and gastroenterology, beginning in summer.
